Every page on toothache.com is reviewed by Ryan Smith, DDS, a dentist who owns and runs dental practices in the Portland, Oregon area.
Why this site exists
Most people search for tooth pain late at night, when the office is closed and the internet is full of guesses. This site gives a straight answer: how urgent it is, what helps tonight, what the fix will likely cost, and how to keep it from happening again.
How pages are written and checked
- Each page starts as a draft written with AI assistance from published sources, such as the American Dental Association and the American Association of Endodontists. Those sources are listed at the bottom of every page.
- A second check compares every medical claim against those sources.
- Dr. Smith reviews the page. Only then does it show "Reviewed by Ryan Smith, DDS" and a review date. Until then it's labeled as a draft.
- Pages are re-reviewed at least once a year, and sooner when guidance changes.
What this site isn't
