With a dental savings plan not insurance—If the plan's discount is 20–60%, the range National Association of Dental Plans reports. Add the plan's membership fee. Discounts apply only at participating dentists.
How to pay less
- Ask for a written estimate that lists each procedure and its price, then compare it with a second office.
- Ask whether the office offers a cash price or a payment plan.
- A dental savings plan can lower the price at participating dentists, often with no waiting period. It's not insurance, so compare the membership fee with what you'd save.
